" i didn't mean to lose my head"means to me i didn't mean to get out of control and say what i said. this song to me means that when your in a relationship you can say some pretty reckless things that could really hurt the other person. Imma beg you on my knees" this is what he's obviously is going to do if she tries to leave him. in life we make mistakes and do things we didn't mean to do and could hunt us.

the decisions we make can drive people that we love away. " feel easily defeated " feels so hopeless that there isn't anything you can do.
